All the Deails You Need About Kalli's 100 Days of New Moon

Ok friends...get ready...100 Days of New Moon starts TOMORROW!!

"But Kalli," you ask, "Isn't today 100 days until New Moon?!?"

Yes...according to the countdown widget it is...but the widget will have 0 Days, x Hours, x Minutes on November 19th...and I don't know about you...but I don't think I could handle that day without one last New Moon quote.

So, my 100 Days will start tomorrow and end with #100 on November 19th...to get us all ready for the BIG SHOW that night!! Squeeeeee!!!!

Here are the Specifics of My Countdown...

1. Each day, starting tomorrow, I will post a key phrase/sentence from New Moon.
2. I will be working chronologically through the book...not in order of importance. Trust me when I say that it was absolutely painful to narrow down my quotes to just 100...it would have been impossible to rank them in order of importance or my favorites. My goal was to pick out 100 quotes that highlight the key moments in the book.
3. I will tweet my New Moon quote at noon each day, but I will also update my countdown here on the blog everyday to compile a running list.
4. I will also put the page number of the quote here on the blog so that if you don't remember that part of the book or aren't sure what it's referring to...you can quickly find the page and give yourself a refresher.
5. Because I was focused on the 100 quotes that tell the story of New Moon...I had to drop a lot of my favorites. If a quote just made me laugh, but wasn't critical to the plot...it had to go. *tear* But it was too hard to part with a lot of these completely...so, I decided that...
6. When we get to the last 10 days before New Moon...I will start on my New Moon Top 40...the 40 book quotes that I want to see most in the movie. I would love to hear from all of you...so let me know in the comments/on Twitter/by email which quotes are your MUST HAVES for the movie!!

Movie Quotes on the Official NM Website?!?

OHMYGOSH!!!

Today is finally August (another month down) and only 110 days left till New Moon! And...as if things just couldn't get better...Summit is finally starting to release more info! Yipee!!

As your resident quote-aholic...I would like to take a few minutes of your time to talk about the feature on the official New Moon website that really gives me the chills...character quotes! If you look around on both the movie page and "World of Twilight" page, you can find quotes from most of the major characters.

When I first saw some of them...my initial reaction was that they were probably from the book...until I read Carlisle's quote and realized (because I'm a total quote-nerd) that it was not the same as the book. I should also admit at this point that I totally squealed when I realized that this meant it was probably a MOVIE quote!!! So, I decided to do some investigation and discuss what we can learn from the quotes that Summit has so generously given us! Let's do this in a few groups:

Human:

• Bella - “It never made sense for you to love me. I always knew that." This is a direct book quote. It comes from her conversation with Edward after they return from Italy. As with the other book quotes that are used on the site - I'm hoping this means that the movie will be using quite a few lines directly from the book.

Werewolves:

• Jacob - “I’m so sorry that I can’t be the right kind of monster for you, Bella.” This is also straight from the book...and let me just say that I am seriously hoping this line is in the movie - it's a great one!!
• Sam - “Jake’s right. You are good with weird.” Ok...so here we find our first difference. I've looked several times through the scenes that follow Bella meeting the pack for the first time, and I'm pretty sure that no one says this. However, in the book, Jake tells Bella: “You’re also very good with weird.” So...my guess is they have just transferred this idea to Sam to give him more lines...and that's cool by me!
• Embry - “Well, the wolf’s out of the bag now.” Direct quote - and another great one that I would be pleased as punch to see in the movie!!
• Paul - “I’m sure the leech-lover is just dying to help us out!” Quote straight from Stephanie Meyer's super creative head!!
• Jared - “The chick runs with vampires.” In the book, poor Jared really doesn't say a lot. Actually, in New Moon, Embry is the one who says "she runs with vampires." But again - totally true to the spirit of the book...so I'm down!!

Cullens:

• Edward - “What choice have I? I cannot be with you, but I will not destroy your soul.” This is a direct quote, and one I really love because he sounds so turn of the twentieth century when he says this. It sounds like something you would hear in Anne of Green Gables!!
• Carlisle - “Imagine the situation in reverse. If you believed you would be destroying Edward’s soul…would you do it?” So this is the one that clued me in to the possibility of some movie quotes! In the book he says: “If you believed as he did. Could you take away his soul?” Really...not that much of a difference. It works for me!
• Esme - “I already think of you as part of the family.” As a quote-aholic...I will be the teensiest bit OCD here and point out that in the book she says: "...part of my family." Not that this difference really causes me stress...I just want to be accurate here! :)
  
• Alice - “How strongly are you opposed to grand theft auto?” Hallelujah!!! As we are all well aware...this is a quote from the book. I'm just hoping this means that this quote will be in the movie!! Squeeee!!!
• Rosalie - “I wish there had been someone there to vote no for me.” This is definitely straight from the book, and I'm really hoping that this one makes it into the movie - because it's our first real clue that Rose isn't totally mean and has a heart...she's just still dealing with her troubled past.
• Jasper - “It’ll be a relief not to want to kill you.” So if the Carlisle quote hadn't made me notice the book/movie difference...this one would really have caught my attention. It definitely is not in the book. My guess is that this will be in the voting scene. In the book he just says “yes,” when he votes, but I'm glad Jasper will get more than that short answer after all the birthday mess at the beginning.
• Emmett - “The hell you will. I’m not missing another fight.” This one is also not in the book at all. Again, I think this will be in the voting scene. In the book he just has two lines here. First: “Excellent plan, my brother” when Edward suggests hiding Bella from the Volturi and fighting anyone who comes after them. Then second: “Hell, yes! We can find some other way to pick a fight with this Demetri” when he votes. So, my guess is that this quote has something to do with one of those two conversations.

Bad Vamps:

• Laurent - “You’re very lucky I was the one to find you.” This one comes straight from the book!
• Victoria - “No one can hide like me.” Seeing that there even was a Victoria quote on the site got me really excited, because she doesn't have any lines at all in the book. So we can pretty much say for sure that this is a movie quote. We know they are adding scenes to the movie that tell what she is up to the whole time, so my guess is that this quote might be from a planning session she has with Laurent about how to find and kill Bella. But that's just a guess. I could be completely wrong since they have pretty much made Victoria's stuff up for the movie...and I'm excited to see those scenes!!

Volturi:

• Aro - “I love a happy ending. They are so rare.” This is another direct quote from the book...and I can't wait to see this one in the movie too - so sarcastic, so evil!!
• Caius - “We do not offer second chances.” Again...straight from the book!
• Marcus - “You already know what you’ll do, Aro.” So...I went back and checked and I'm pretty sure that Marcus doesn't have any lines in the book. He goes over to Aro to show his brother his assessment of Edward and Bella's relationship...but he doesn't speak aloud. So...I guess that this line could either be from the big Volturi scene at the end or from one of the flashbacks the movie has made up about Carlisle's time with the Volturi.
• Alec - “They send you out for one and you bring back two and a half. Such a clever girl.” This is pretty true to the book. The only difference is that in the book he says "Nice work" instead of "Such a clever girl." Still...man...I bet there will be an evil tone to that line!!!
• Jane - “This may hurt just a little.” Ok...so this quote got me all kinds of excited!! In the book, Jane doesn't talk much...mainly she just smiles that evil little smile of hers. So...I am really hoping that this means she will get this creepy line in the movie!!
