79. Are the Cullens too good to be true?
If you have read the series you know that the Cullens have a "hook-up" when it is time to relocate and assume new identities. J Jenks is a man who can get all kids of papers. The bigger question is how have they not gotten caught. It seems that they mostly use their real names. How on Earth can Carlisle practice medicine? Does he go to medical school every 30 years or so? If they check his diploma, won't they get a little suspicious? Wait, does he even have a medical degree?
According to personal correspondences between Twilight Lexicon and Stephenie Meyer, "The Cullens are criminals." Every few years they have to get J Jenks to create new documents for them. Not just new ones, but changing the dates on birth certificates, passports, and such with the government. Carlisle does return to medical school to brush up on the newest techniques. Edward and Rose have been to college and Rose even graduated with honors. One redeeming factor, they do pay their taxes. (Oh yeah, they are murders.)
