Kim's 100 Days to New Moon Countdown
98. To some, many of the female charcaters in the Twilight Saga seems like a week, frail and dependent, especially Bella. This is so not true. According to Stephenie Meyer (SM), if you really look at the females in the stories, they hold thier own. Look at Alice, she "sees" what she wants and goes for it. She can kick butt and apologizes to no one. Sm states that she is "not anti-female, I am anti-human. When a human being is totally surrounded by creatures with supernatural strength, speed, senses, and various other uncanny powers, he or she is not going to be able to hold his or her own. Sorry. That's just the way it is. We can't all be slayers. Bella does pretty well I think, all things considered. She saves Edward, after all."
Amen Stephenie!
Tomorrow: How big of a role did Jacob plan in the original Twilight plan?
