93. What is a New Moon, anyway?
A new moon is the phase of the lunar phase where the moon is between the Sun and the Earth. This means the portion of the moon that is unilluminated (dark) faces to the Earth and the illuminated part faces the Sun. What we see then is the moon is almost impossible to see with the naked eye. It makes it one of the darkest nights in the lunar month.
What does this have to do with the book New Moon? The time when Edward left Bella was her darkest point in her life. Simple as that!
